Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) enthusiasts and users of low-end smartphones may soon have reason to celebrate as reports suggest that the developer might be developing a BGMI Lite app.
According to a report by Sportskeeda, Krafton, the developer of BGMI, initiated a poll on the official Battlegrounds Mobile India Discord channel, seeking feedback from users on the potential launch of a BGMI Lite version.
Revisiting PUBG Mobile Lite
Before its ban in India, PUBG Mobile featured a lite version known as PUBG Mobile Lite. This version was specifically tailored for players using low-end devices, offering smooth gameplay even on hardware with limited capabilities.
The poll, now removed, presented users with several options:
- Inability to play BGMI on low-end devices.
- Expectation of better frame rates and performance in the Lite version.
- Desire to transfer data/inventory from PUBG Mobile Lite.
- Preference for maps and skins available in PUBG Mobile Lite.
While PUBG Mobile players were able to transfer their data to BGMI, PUBG Mobile Lite users have been left awaiting the launch of the BGMI Lite version to facilitate such transfers.
Insights from the Poll
At the time the poll was active, the option indicating the inability to play BGMI on their device garnered the most votes, indicating a significant demand for a Lite version.
Speculations and Expectations
Although Krafton has not officially announced the development of the BGMI Lite version, the poll conducted on the official Discord server hints at potential plans for its launch in the near future.
Renowned gamers such as Maxtern have hinted at the existence of a BGMI Lite version under development, suggesting that its release may be imminent. Ghatak, another prominent gamer, has even speculated that the BGMI Lite version could debut by the end of the following month.
Recent Developments and Future Prospects
Krafton, the developer behind BGMI, recently introduced PUBG: New State, a futuristic battle royale game set in 2051. The game currently offers three maps: Troi, Erangel 2051, and Station (Beta).
The potential release of a BGMI Lite version holds promise for gamers with low-end devices, offering them an optimized gaming experience while expanding the reach of the popular franchise.
